HV Light It Up Blue was founded in 2012 with two friends and a simple idea to raise money and awareness, not knowing how large an idea can spread. The idea was to pick a school or an organization that worked to better the lives of those diagnosed with Autism, to be able to give them equal opportunities in everything possible. To date, HV Light It Up Blue has raised more than $50,000 for local organizations and continues to give 100% of donations received.
Hudson Valley Light It Up Blue is a 501(c)(3) under the Community Foundation of Orange & Sullivan. They are committed to raising awareness of Autism and raising funds that 100% go directly to a different school or organization every year that is geared towards making the lives of those with Autism better, giving them equal opportunities in everything possible. This year, all proceeds will benefit the Autism Move-A-Thon of Orange County (AMOC), an organization striving to support families who cope with Autism and related disorders. AMOC aims to raise public awareness of Autism through seminars and media campaigns in Orange County. AMOC works to provide information and networks to help empower families and the community, so that we can better address the unique and troubling challenges of this health problem. AMOC also aims to raise understanding and tolerance in Orange County. If you would like to donate, please visit www.hvlightitupblue, or make checks payable to CFOS-Hudson Valley Light It Up Blue, c/o Community Foundation of Orange & Sullivan, 30 Scott’s Corners Drive, Montgomery, NY 12549.
