Coverage Types
Accident Only – The lowest premium option, for covered veterinary expenses related to accidents or injuries, such as bite wounds, broken bones, or swallowed objects.
Essential – This is Accident Only + coverage for illnesses, such as allergic reactions, cancer, diabetes, digestive issues, eye/ear/skin conditions, hereditary or congenital conditions, and hip dysplasia. This plan covers every medical condition, other than pre-existing conditions.
Both the Accident Only and Essential plans include coverage for diagnostics (including radiology) and surgery.
Annual benefit limits range from $2,500 – $15,000 or higher. If you use the online portal, only the $2,500 and $10,000 limits are visible. Just call our office at (888) 687-8555, and we can update a quote with different limits.
Deductibles are annual, and options range from $100 – $1,000 or higher.
Reimbursement options from 50 – 90% are available.
Optional Coverages – You can also add coverage for vet exam fees or wellness plans.
How do I get insurance for my cat or dog started?

NOTE: The portal only includes coverage limits of $2,500 and $10,000, but other limits including $5,000, $7,500 and $15,000 are available as well – just give us a call to go over those.
Once you have chosen your cat or dog insurance plan, you can make payment by debit, credit, or ACH in the portal, or to our office. Payment can be made in full, or in monthly installments. Prudent Pet will manage all communication regarding payment, including invoices, so if you choose the monthly plan, please make sure to your email account doesn’t block their emails in a spam or other filter.

Is there an age limit? No, there is no age limit.
Are certain breeds excluded? No, there are no breed restrictions.
Is there a waiting period? Yes. The waiting period for accidents is five days. For illness it is 14 days. And for knee and ligament issues the waiting period is 180 days, but that waiting period can be waived with a veterinary exam.
Do the plans cover for diagnostics? Yes.
Are prescriptions medications covered? Yes.
Can I use any licensed vet? Yes.
